Q   Do we have a book/video/journal in our collection?

A   Check the online public access catalog (OPAC) by author, title, subject or keyword. Call the Reference Desk at extension 7574.

Q   How do I get a book or an article from another library or through Document Delivery Service? Where do I pick it up?

A   Request forms for books and articles are available at the Reference Desk.,
or on the library's homepage under "Faculty Resources".

      For questions, contact ILL/DDS Office, extension 7579.
      Item pick- up is at the Circulation Desk.

Q   How do I put materials on reserve?

A   Forms are available at the Circulation Desk, or on the library's homepage under "Faculty FAQS." Send your completed list and personal items you wish to put on reserve to Irene Kuchta, Access Services Librarian, or bring them to the Circulation desk.

Q   What if the library does not own the book I want to put on reserve?

A   Forward your request to Access Services regardless of whether or not we own the book. If we have difficulty obtaining a reserve item, you will be notified.

Q   I have other questions about Reserves, Circulation, Interlibrary Loan, Document Delivery and related copyright issues. Whom do I ask?

A   Check the Ramapo College Copyright and Duplication Policy and the U.S. Copyright Office . For additional information, contact Irene Kuchta, Access Services

Q   How do I request the purchase of an item for the general, undergraduate collection?

A   Forms are available on the library's homepage under "Faculty Resources." Completed forms should go to your library liaison:

Q   How do I request the purchase of material for a graduate program?

A   Send all requests to the Director of the program or designee who will forward them to the library.

Q   How do I request a subscription to a periodical?

A   New subscriptions are rarely added. Contact Elaine Risch, Collection Management Librarian  (x 7570) or erisch@ramapo.edu

Q   How do I know if and what materials are ordered?

A   You can assume that your request is filled, unless otherwise notified. Purchase and publication patterns vary and it may take two weeks to six months to receive a title. A list of new titles, gifts and replacements, by broad subject category may be created directly from our OPAC under the search tab "New Books."

Q   How do I request instruction on the use of the library for my classes?

A   Forms are available at the Reference Desk (x 7574) or on the library's homepage under
     "Faculty Resources."

Q   How does library instruction work?

A   Instruction sessions are tailored to each class and assignment based on the syllabus. Instruction can include: a 15-minute review of a specific database; a full hour presentation about a variety of relevant resources, including basic Internet techniques; held in the library's Electronic Learning Facility ( ELF); in any computer lab connected to the CWIS, or a classroom.

Q   How do I rent a video?
